All the offices of Tribhuvan University and constitutent campues of Tribhuvan University will be closed tomorrow (16th March, 2018 or 2nd Chaitra 2074) to mourn the demise of its former Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr. Govinda Sharma.
Former vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University and former director of the TU Teaching Hospital, Dr. Govinda Sharma, died at the age of 75. Former Vice Chancellor Sharma's body was brought to Kathmandu from Russia on Thursday and a condolence meeting was held at TU Memorial Building.
TU Registrar Dilliram Upreti said that Friday is declared holiday but the pre announced programmes of the examinations would remain unchanged.
Sharma had served as the VC of TU in 2003. He passed away at a hospital in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Wednesday night.
Sharma, who had also been a senior surgeon, was suffering from liver cirrhosis for a long period of time.
