Market declines by 24.20 points on the last day of the year 2017; Index at 1,390.58 points

The benchmark capital market index, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE), has decreased by 24.20 points or 1.71% to close at 1,390.58 points.

Today, NEPSE Index opened at 1414.78 points and the local bourse was seen decreasing throughout the day. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 58.78 crore where more than 18.25 lakh units’ shares were traded through 5,484 transactions.

Promoter shares of Nepal Credit & Commercial Bank Ltd. topped the list of companies in terms of turnover (Rs 96.96 crore) and shares traded (484,808 units) today.

Sensitive and float index decreased by 5.5 points and 1.44 points respectively.

Except Hotels sector, the sub-indices of nine sectors such as Banking, Trading, Development Bank, HydroPower, Finance, Insurance, Manufacturing & Production, Others and Microfinance ended in red. Others sector lost the most (i.e. 55.81 points) followed by Microfinance (i.e. 37.52 points).

Pokhara Finance Ltd. (PFL) was the top gainer with almost while Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited, (NTC) was among the top losers.
